Academics
We offer small classes with an upclose and personal learning environment.
We've got choices. Saint Joe's offers more than 40 academic programs with a strong liberal arts core. Our classes are small, averaging 17 students and courses in your major are often even smaller. That means our faculty will get to know you and inspire you.

study abroad
My favorite part had to be the people I met. It’s really amazing …. The European Union has this program where every student in the EU can go to another EU country to study, so you really get to know students from all over the place. Plus, I went to Paris to visit my roommate, Nancy Le Gat, a French student who had studied at St. Joe’s! During my study abroad in Poland, I e-mailed my adventures to faculty and staff back on campus.”—Cabryn Gurdo ’07

first year program
At Saint Joe’s we’re all about helping you succeed through our Year. One program. We provide you with
- important tools for success
- inform you with workshops and resources you can take advantage of
- tell you about study breaks that can help you refocus and refresh
- notify you about opportunities for extra-curricular involvement
The best part? You can access the information at your own pace and any way you like: online, in person, via telephone or e-mail. And the information is available to you when you need it.
I am involved as a Year. One mentor for the first year students. I just met with one of my students from last year (who is now a sophomore) and he really is an exceptional student who nearly transferred but didn’t because (I believe) this program gave him the encouragement that he needed to stay. From my perspective I believe this program has made a difference for students during that first crucial year of school and I have heard it from others that were my mentees and from the program coordinator.”
