Portland, Maine's largest city, is a favorite destination if you want
a complete change of pace from your studies. With cobblestoned streets
and red-brick storefronts that reflect its New England heritage, the Old
Port district is renowned for its waterfront, museums, clubs, theater,
galleries and fine restaurants. If you love shopping, L.L Bean, outlet
stores in Freeport and Kittery, and the Maine Mall are close by.
Saint Joseph's is 30 minutes from Portland, an hour north
of Portsmouth, N.H., two hours north of Boston and 5 1/2 hours north
of New York City.
