meet with the Director of Career Services. Give us a call

Career Services has many free assessment tools available to assist you
in making career decisions. The Myers-Briggs
Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory
can help you define and better understand your personality preferences,
interests, abilities, and work values. By completing these assessment
tools you'll be better able to choose the major and career that is right
for you.
Career
Resource Library
The Career Resource Library has over 200 books and videos available
to peruse in the Resource Room or check out for a two week period. Find
information about careers, occupational projections, job searching,
resumes and cover letters, graduate schools, scholarships and grants,
and more.
Free
Handouts
Career Services has handouts containing help on resume and cover letter
writing, interview skills, job search skills and more. Just stop by
the office and pick them
up or find them online at our Forms
and Publications page (Acrobat Reader required).
Internships
Career Services can help find the right internship for your major. Listings
are also available for local, national, international and summer internship
programs.
Resume Writing and Critiques
We can help you get started writing resumes, cover letters and personal
statements. If you have already written a resume, bring it to the Career
Services Center for a professional critique.
Graduate
School Information
Information is available in the Career Services Center to help you find
the graduate program right for you. We also have registration booklets
for graduate school testing such as the GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, VCAT,
MAT and the Praxis.
Polish your interview skills by scheduling a "mock interview."
The Career Services director will “interview” you and provide
feedback and instruction on how to improve your interview skills.
Workshops
The Career Services Office offers many helpful career workshops. Workshops
typically offered are Resume Writing, Effective Interviewing, Exploring
Graduate School, Job Search Strategies, Developing Your Career Plan,
Why intern?, and more.

Recruiting Opportunities
Employers interested in Saint Joseph’s students will be on campus
each semester to meet you and conduct interviews. Be sure to have your
resume ready!
Job fairs are excellent networking opportunities for students and employers.
If you are looking for a full-time, part-time job, summer, volunteer
or internship position, you'll have a chance to attend the Spring Job
Fair, Nursing Career Day, Education Job Fair, and the Post-Graduate
Service Information Fair.

Saint Joseph’s College is a member of the Maine Recruiting Consortium,
an alliance of Maine college and university career services centers,
which manages a job placement Website at www.mainegrads.org.
The Maine College Grads Website is only open to students enrolled at
a college or university in Maine and to graduates of these institutions.
The Website is updated daily and lists open positions as posted by employers
who reside in the State of Maine.
