John Hufstader

John Hufstader, Assistant Professor of Communications
Professor Hufstader teaches video production, new media and Web development and has an academic interest in “pursuing the shift of our media-centric lives into the digital world.” He has worked with problem-based service learning projects throughout the community and in 2004 co-produced "EDITH: Exit Drills In The Home" a nationally distributed multicultural and multilingual fire safety video with the Portland Fire Department focused on our refugee communities. In the fall of 2005 he also produced the video "Suscipe", a short piece based on Dr. Paul McGovern's original choral composition of a poem by Sister Catherine McAuley.

Completed in October of 2006, "small steps...Great Strides" is a documentary film that chronicles and honors the history of the College over the 50 years since its move to the Sebago Lake campus in 1956. Read the story, watch the video.

His personal interests are outdoor activities, film and the fine art of popcorn.
