June Marshall

June Marshall, Associate Professor of Education, Chair

Dr. Marshall teaches Children's Literature, Reading Methods and the Senior Seminar capstone course. She also supervises students in their field-based experiences during the junior internships and the senior student teaching semesters. In addition, Professor Marshall serves as the Advisor to the Saint Joseph's College chapter of the Student Education Association of Maine (SEAM) organization.

Dr. Marshall researches, publishes, and gives presentations in the areas of Reading, Teaching and Learning, and Character Education. She works extensively with the State Department of Education serving on the Higher Education Literacy Task Force that develops undergraduate and graduate reading programs, professional development, and standards surrounding the No Child Left Behind legislation, specifically focusing on the Put Reading First grants. She also serves on the National Reading First Higher Education Consortium charged with developing a national leadership model for the implementation of reading instruction in undergraduate teacher education programs.
