Jonathan Mitschele

Professor Mitschele teaches general chemistry, physical chemistry, and physics. His research interests involve studying the forces that hold substances together as liquids and solids, and developing a physical model of batteries. His academic interests include developing instructional materials for physics and chemistry, serving as a reviewer for The Journal of Chemical Education, and participating in textbook development for first year chemistry and physics.

Professor Mitschele worked with colleagues at the University of Wisconsin - Madison on a video collection of demonstrations of wave and particle properties, published by the Institute for Chemical Education as one of the series of Chemistry Comes Alive CD's. He has published articles in The Journal of Chemical Education, The Physics Teacher, and The American Journal of Physics. His personal interests include singing in a chorus, farming, hiking, canoeing, and backpacking in the mountains of the West.
