David Pinchbeck

David Pinchbeck, Associate Professor of Mathematics, Chair
Professor Pinchbeck studies the theory of functions on Riemann surfaces, which are geometric objects that look locally like the complex plane, but may be curved into three-dimensional (or higher) space. The skin on an orange and the glaze on a doughnut are physical models of two types of Riemann surfaces.

Why last math course of your life could be the best
Dave Pinchbeck and Scott Balcomb redo of the math course for liberal arts majors embraces great concepts in math and effective problem solving, rather than memorization of formulas.
