Ruth Smillie

Ruth Smillie, Instructor of Nursing
Family nursing, including maternity and pediatrics, is instructor Ruth Smillie's area of expertise and one of her main research areas. She is a critical care float nurse at Maine Medical Center, meaning that she works in different areas of the hospital depending on where she is needed. Aside from family nursing, which she teaches at Saint Joseph's, she is also interested in the orientation of new nursing graduates.

Instructor Smillie volunteers in the community. Her personal interests include her husband, her two children and her two cats. She enjoys reading, boating, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
