The major in Theology provides students with a knowledge and understanding of Catholic theology, “faith seeking understanding.” Students majoring in Theology explore and study the Bible, the creeds, and the ideas and practices of the Catholic, Christian, and other religious traditions. A major in Theology prepares students for entry into many different occupations. It is particularly suited to careers in teaching, law, religious education, a religious vocation, religious ministry, and the professions.

Students majoring in Theology often double major in English, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Science, or Sociology. The Bachelor of Arts major in Theology includes two semesters of foreign language study. Students majoring in Theology also are required to complete a 20-credit minor in another academic field.

A minor in Theology is available and requires students to take 20 credit hours.
