Saint Joseph’s provided
a strong foundation and opportunities—Erby did the rest.
When Erby made the move from Brooklyn to Standish as a first year
student in 1994 he didn’t quite know what to expect. What
he got was more than an education.
“Attending Saint Joseph’s was a powerful experience
for me, allowing me to discover my intellectual potential as well
as to think critically about issues that mattered most to me. My
experience at the College was only possible because of its supportive
community; coaches, faculty, and staff, all of whom assisted in
my transition from New York City to Maine.”
Now Director of Multicultural Recruitment at Bowdoin College, in
the fall of 2005 he will enter a master’s degree program at
the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Despite his impressive accomplishments, Erby is quick to point
out that he had help along the way, “I am grateful to the
College for its generosity, and I look forward to returning the
favor to the generations of students who will attend Saint Joe’s,
with hopes that they too will be transformed by the people of this
great community.”
