1/15/08– Alonso Davis Honored by GNAC

STANDISH, ME - SO Alonso Davis (Richmond, VA) has been named the GNAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the 1/14-1/20 reporting period. Davis, a first year varsity team member, was a key role player for the Monks during a 2-1 week, all against GNAC opponents.

The 6'7 center scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 20 minutes of play off the bench in a 103-50 win over Mount Ida on 1/19.  Davis chipped in with a double-double effort in just 12 minutes of playing time with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a 93-73 victory over Suffolk University on 1/15.

"Zo" has been a key contributor off the bench this season and has tallied 58 points and 35 rebounds in his 75 minutes of play thus far in 2007-08.
