STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference
has announced its 2008 Baseball All-Conference Awards and Saint Joseph's
College (23-13, 8-6 GNAC) senior shortstop Luke Enman
(Milan, NH/Berlin HS) has been tabbed the Conference Player of the
Year.
During the 2008 season Enman was named as the conference player of
the week twice and garnered recognition on the weekly honor roll one
time. As of April 21st, he was first in the conference in slugging
percentage, second in on-base percentage, third in batting average,
second in hits, home runs and RBI’s and fourth in runs scored.
The senior slugger leads the Monks with a .415 (49-118) batting average,
.771 slugging percentage and .510 on-base percentage. He also leads
the team with 49 hits, 40 runs, 38 RBI’s, and 10 stolen bases.
After the 2007 season Enman was named as the North Atlantic Conference
Player of the Year and the NAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. He
was also listed on the NAC All-Conference First Team, D3Baseball.com
All-American Second Team, ECAC DIII All-New England Second Team and
the NEIBA First Team.
Enman will unquestionably go down as one of the best players in Monks
baseball history. As of April 25th the four-year starter ranked first
in career at-bats (567) and triples (18), second in doubles (40),
third in runs (153), RBI’s (159) and hits (207) and fourth in
career home runs (28). His .365 career batting average is currently
fifth best on the all-time list.
