Dann has announced the 2007 team awards. JR Ryan
Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) has been named the
Most Valuable Runner after posting his best season, earning the
GNAC Runner of the Year Award and earning GNAC Runner of the Week
honors four times. Prescott also was honored
with the "Prefontaine Award," which is given yearly
to the most dedicated and complete runner on either the Men's
or Women's team. 11/10/07 - MONKS RUNNERS FINISH 32nd NEW LONDON,
CT - The Saint Joseph's College Men's Cross Country team participated
in the 2007 NCAA Div 3 Cross Country Regional Championships on Saturday,
11/10. The men placed 32nd out of 47 teams, with a total of 958
points in the 8K race. STANDISH, ME - The GNAC announced Tuesday
11/6 that JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) has yet
again won the conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week Award
(10/29-11/4). Ryan has received this honor four times this season. WILLIAMSTOWN,
MA - The Saint Joseph's College Men's Cross Country team partcipated
in the 8,000 meter ECAC Championships hosted by Williams College on
Saturday, 11/3. The race featured 37 college teams and the Monks finished
as the top GNAC team in 25th place with
660 points. 10/30/07 - Prescott Honored by GNAC STANDISH, ME – Men’s Cross Country runner JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) earned weekly GNAC honors for the week 10/22-10/28. Prescott was named the Men’s Runner of the Week as a result of winning the 8K GNAC Championship, held at Saint Joseph's College, on Saturday 10/27. His time for the race was 28:01, 40 seconds ahead of the second place runner. This marks the third time this season that Prescott has been named for the weekly honor. Standish, ME - JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield,
ME) earned the GNAC Runner of the Year and All-Conference awards by
winning the 8K race, with a time of 28:01, held at Saint Joseph's College
on Saturday. Teammate FY Jake McNeill (Bath, ME) also
earned GNAC All-Conference honors by finishing in the top ten overall
(8th, 29:46). TEAM
POINTS Gray, ME – The SJC Men’s
Cross Country team participated in the 5-mile State of Maine Championships
on Saturday and were lead by JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH)
who finished in 22nd place (27:39). The next SJC runner to cross the
finish line was FY Jake McNeill (Bath, ME), who finished
58th (29:41). SO Jeremy Allen (Rutland, VT) (61st,
29:55), FY Kevin Horton (Arlington, VT) (63rd, 29:58)
and JR Tony Myatt (Portland, ME) (77th, 30:56) rounded
out the top five Monks runners. In all, 124 athletes from nine Maine
colleges participated in the event. Three Saint Joseph's College athletes were honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for the week ending October 7th, 2007. This marks the second week in a row that these three athletes were honored by the conference. JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) was named Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Prescott led the Monks to second place in the SJC Invitational and finished in second place individually with a time of 28:52. FR Kevin Horton (Arlington, VT) earned Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week honors. Horton placed sixth in the SJC Invitational with a time of 30:11. FY Katie Murphy (Baileyville, ME) was honored as Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Murphy helped the Monks to a third place finish and was seventh overall with a time of 22:00. Standish, ME –
The SJC Men’s Cross Country Team finished in second place out
of six teams behind U-Maine Farmington on Sunday. The Monks were paced
by JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH), who finished
the 8K race in second place trailing U-Maine Farmington’s FR
Tim Millett (28:51) by just one second. Three Saint Joseph's College athletes were honored by
the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for the week ending September
30, 2007. FY Katie Murphy (Baileyville, ME) was honored as Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Murphy finished 41st out of 229 runners in the Pop Crowell Invitational. Wenham, MA – JR captain Ryan
Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) helped the Monks to a seventh-place
finish Saturday at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon
College. Prescott ran an impressive race, finishing 8th out of 212
runners with a time of 27:36. Biddeford, ME – The SJC men’s cross country
team took third place out of 10 scoring teams at the University of
New England Invitational on Saturday.
