12/14/07 - Men's Cross Country Team Awards Announced

STANDISH, ME - Men's Cross Country Head Coach Tom Dann has announced the 2007 team awards. JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) has been named the Most Valuable Runner after posting his best season, earning the GNAC Runner of the Year Award and earning GNAC Runner of the Week honors four times. Prescott also was honored with the "Prefontaine Award," which is given yearly to the most dedicated and complete runner on either the Men's or Women's team.

FY Niall Conlan (Vinalhaven, ME) was named the Most Improved Runner and SO Jeremy Allen (Rutland, VT) was given the Coach's Award, which recognizes the runne who best demonstrates a positive attitude and work ethic during the season. FY Jake McNeill (Bath, ME) was named the top freshman and given the Best "Rookie" Award.


11/10/07 - MONKS RUNNERS FINISH 32nd

NEW LONDON, CT - The Saint Joseph's College Men's Cross Country team participated in the 2007 NCAA Div 3 Cross Country Regional Championships on Saturday, 11/10. The men placed 32nd out of 47 teams, with a total of 958 points in the 8K race.

JR Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) was the Monks top runner and finished in 77th (26:15) out of 330 total runners. Prescott was the top GNAC finisher in the race. Teammate FY Jake McNeill (Bath, ME) completed the race in 183rd (28:19) place and was the second St. Joe's runner to finish. McNeill also had the 2nd best time for a GNAC rookie runner behind Norwich's FY Zach Chorney (155, 27:42). Monks SO Jeremy Allen (Rutland, VT) was 191st (28:29) and the 3rd St. Joe's runner to cross the finish line.
