Following each season, the coaching staff selects individuals to receive four awards for each team – Most Valuable Runner, Most Improved Runner, Best Rookie and Coaches Award – and one athlete from either team is honored with the Prefontaine Award, which is given yearly to the most dedicated and complete runner in the cross country program. WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Ryan Prescott '09 (Pittsfield, NH) led St. Joe's and placed 28th out of 331 runners with a time of 27:02.9 in the 8K NCAA Divsion III New England Regional Cross-Country Championships on Saturday to help the Monks place 27th out of 49 with 867 team points. Host-team Williams College won the event with 36 points while Ephs runner Edgar Kosgey toured the course in 25:52.7 to take home individual championship honors. Read more

BRISTOL, RI - The SJC men's cross country runners earned 648 team points and finished 23rd out of 48 teams in the ECAC Division III Championship, hosted at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island on Saturday. Senior Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) toured the 8K course in 26:49, just 29 seconds off the pace of the race leader, Adam Smith of St. Vincent (PA ), to earn a ninth-place finish out of 323 runners. STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's placed third with 60 team points in the 2008 GNAC 8K Men's Cross Country Championship, just one point behind runner-up Norwich University. Johnson & Wales won the event with 24 points. Ryan Prescott '09 (Pittsfield, NH) broke the course record, which he set earlier this year, by 48 seconds with a time of 26:53 to win the meet for the second consecutive year. Read more
