Rebecca Biggs has been appointed the head coach for the new St. Joe's
varsity swim team. The announcement of the addition of the swim program
and membership in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference came last spring.
This is Rebecca's second year at SJC as she was the head coach of the
St. Joe's club swim team in 2006-07.
Before accepting the position here at St. Joe's, Biggs had been the head
varsity swim coach at Portland High School since 2002, where she coached
25 swimmers on the boys and girls swim team.
A 1998 graduate of Colby College, Biggs was co-captain of the varsity
swim team, a four-year New England Championship Qualifier and went on
to earn her Master's in Education from Lesley College in 2000 and is currently
a third grade teacher in Windham.
A native of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Becky resides in Gorham with her
husband, Andy, and their daughter, Lucy.

Katie Dwyer joins the Monks coaching staff as an assistant to Coach Rebecca
Biggs.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 with her
Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, Dwyer moved to Maine to
accept a teaching position at the Windham Primary School, where she currently
teaches first grade.
Dwyer swam competitively throughout high school where she qualified for
various championship meets. She currently trains for various road races
and enjoys running, swimming, biking and weight training.
This is her first season as an official coach and she is looking forward
to the experience St. Joe’s will bring her and to offering her knowledge
of fitness to the swimmers.
A native of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, Dwyer resides in Portland.
