Carolyn Freeman BOSTON, MA - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the 2007-08 Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams and SJC sophomore guard Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME/McAuley HS) has been voted to the First Team. Read more
2/26/08 - SJC Falls in GNAC Quarterfinals, 64-54
NORTHFIELD, VT - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball season has come to an end after a 64-54 loss to Norwich University in the GNAC playoffs on Tuesday evening. SO Allison Miner (Pembroke, NH) led St. Joe's with 12 points in the contest. The women wrap up their season with a 15-10 record, 8-4 in GNAC competition. Read more
2/23/08 - Rivier Defeats Saint Joseph's, 81-58
STANDISH, ME - GNAC opponent Rivier College upended Saint Joseph's College, 81-58, in the regular season finale. St. Joe's completes the regular season docket 15-9 overall, 8-5 GNAC. FY Sarah Fournier (Jay, ME) made four 3-pointers and scored 12 points in the SJC loss. Read more

Erin CartwrightSTANDISH, ME - Freshman guard Erin Cartwright (Acton, MA) has been named the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for her play in two contests last week. Cartwright averaged 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocked shots per game during the 1-1 week for St. Joe's. Read more

2/16/08 - Norwich Tops SJC, 62-57
Alysn Ludwig STANDISH, ME - After trailing by eight points at the break St. Joe's mounted a comeback bid by shooting 47% from the floor and outscoring the Norwich University Cadets, 35-32 in the second half. JR Alysn Ludwig (Waldoboro, ME) led the Royal Blue with 14 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. St. Joe's record stands at 15-8 overall and 8-4 in GNAC play. Read more
2/14/08 - Daigle Honored by GNAC
Meghan DaigleSTANDISH, ME - Sophomore forward Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Honor Roll for her play during her play from 2/4 through 2/10. In the 1-1 week Daigle averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The sophomore was honored earlier in the week by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association and currently ranks second on the SJC women's team with 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
2/12/08 - St. Joe's Women Earn Victory on "Think Pink" Night
STANDISH, ME - St. Joe's defeated GNAC rival Daniel Webster College, 69-53, and over $200 from gate proceeds was donated to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund on "Think Pink" night at Saint Joseph's College on Tuesday evening. SR Megan Farrell (Abington, MA) led her team with 16 points and 9 boards in the win. Read more
2/11/08 - SJC Pair Named to MWBCA Honor Roll

STANDISH, ME - SO Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) and FY Kayla Boston (North Berwick, ME) both have been named to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honor Roll for their play during the 2/4-2/10 reporting period. Daigle averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and made 58% of her field goal attempts and 82% of her free throws in a 1-1 week. She scored 21 points and collected 10 rebounds against Johnson and Wales to notch her first double-double of the season. In last weeks contests Boston averaged 6.5 points and 3.0 rebounds and made 50% of her shots. The freshman chipped in with 9 points in a loss to GNAC opponent Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, 2/9.

2/9/08 - St. Joe's Falls to Wildcats, 71-62
PROVIDENCE, RI - Saint Joseph's College was defeated on Saturday afternoon by GNAC foe Johnson and Wales University and now holds a 14-7 overall record and a 7-3 conference record. SO Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) scored a team-high 21 points and added 10 rebounds in the loss. Read more

Meghan DaigleSTANDISH, ME - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball team made 45% of their field goal attempts en route to a 70-47 victory over conference opponent Pine Manor College on Wednesday evening. SO Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) netted 15 points in the win. With the victory St. Joe's improves to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in GNAC play.

BOSTON, MA - Host team Emerson College defeated Saint Joseph's, 72-55, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the SJC women are now 13-6 overall and 6-2 in GNAC play. The Lions improve to 6-2 in GNAC competition and 11-9 overall on the season. Read more

NEWTON, MA - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball team defeated GNAC opponent Lasell College on Thursday evening, 71-63, to improve to 13-5 overall, 6-1 in conference play. SR Megan Farrell (Abington, MA) and SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) each scored 13 points in the victory.

1/28/08 - Rookie Drake Named to MWBCA Honor Roll

STANDISH, ME - Freshman guard Casey Drake (Lebanon, NH) has been named to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Weekly Honor Roll for her play during last week's games.
In a 2-1 week for St. Joe's, Drake averaged 11 points and 2.3 steals per game. The rookie saw many of her shots fall, as she was 10-19 from the floor, 4-5 from beyond the arc and 9-11 from the charity stripe for the week.
1/26/08 - St. Joe's Women Capture Victory Over Falcons, 76-63
Carolyn Freeman NEW HAVEN, CT - SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) made 4 three-pointers and scored 22 points to lead St. Joe's past GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus College (CT) on Saturday in New Haven, CT. SJC is now 5-1 in GNAC contests and 12-5 overall this season and the AMC Falcons fall to 6-8 overall and 0-5 in GNAC play. Read more

The SJC victory snaps the Rams’ six-game winning streak FY Casey Drake (Lebanon, NH) made all three of her 3-point attempts and led St. Joe's with 15 points in the victory. Carolyn FreemanSTANDISH, ME - Sophomore guard Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME/McAuley HS) has been named the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week. Freeman shot just under 50% (17-36) from the field and 48% (10-21) from beyond the arc in a 2-0 week for St. Joe's. The sophomore sharpshooter averaged 24 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in victories over GNAC opponents Simmons College and Mount Ida College. Freeman scored a season-high 25 points and grabbed 11 boards in the convincing win over Mount Ida.
1/21/08 - St. Joe's Falls at Emmanuel
BOSTON, MA - Emmanuel College outscored St. Joe's 46-24 in the second half and had 4 players score 10 or more points in a 84-53 win over SJC. FY Casey Drake (Lebanon, NH) led Saint Joseph's with 12 points and SR Marie Lint (Orono, ME) added 11 points in the loss. STANDISH, ME - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball team defeated GNAC opponent Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon, 83-63. BOSTON, MA - Saint Joseph's College traveled to Simmons College to take on the Sharks in the team's second GNAC game of the season. The teams played even in the opening half before SJC took control in the second half to make the final score 63-51, St. Joe's. SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 11 boards to post her fourth double-double of the season. Read more

Three SJC players turned in double-digit point totals as JR Alysn Ludwig (Waldoboro, ME) scored 13 points and FY Erin Cartwright (Acton, MA) had 12 points. STANDISH, ME – St. Joe’s hosted non-conference opponent University of New England on Thursday evening and lost, 77-62. Nor’easters guard Alli Gamache (Dudley, MA) made 4 of 9 three-point attempts and 7 of 12 shots overall to lead all scorers with 20 points in the game. SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) scored 14 points for St. Joe’s in the losing effort. UNE improves to 6-5 with the win while SJC falls to 7-4 on the season. Read more

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College hosted Newbury College in non-conference action on Tuesday night and defeated the Nighthawks, 101-64. St. Joe’s featured four players with double-digit point totals and was led offensively by SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME), who scored 23 points in the win. Marie LintPRESQUE ISLE, ME - The Saint Joseph 's College Women's Basketball team traveled north to Presque Isle on Friday, 12/14 to take part in the Star City Tournament hosted by the UMPI Owls. Unfortunately for the weary travelers, the weather would not allow a tournament to be held. The St. Joe's women played the host Owls in a single game, winning 72-53, before making the trip back home. SR Marie Lint (Orono, ME) led all players with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.

STANDISH, ME - The St. Joe's Women's Basketball team defeated the Mariners of Maine Maritime, 65-52, behind a balanced attack that featured three SJC players who scored 10 or more points. JR Alsyn Ludwig (Waldoboro, ME) and SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) paced the SJC scorers with 15 points apiece. STANDISH, ME - Green Mountain College Eagles defeated St. Joe's , 51-48 in the final game of the Merry Monk Classic. SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, HS) led all scorers with 20 points and made six 3-pointers in the game. SO Allison Miner (Pembroke, NH) grabbed 9 rebounds in the losing effort. The University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls faced off against the College of Saint Joseph Fighting Saints in the first Saturday game and won, 62-48.

Meghan DaigleSTANDISH, ME - St. Joe's played the College of Saint Joseph (VT) in the opening game of the Merry Monk Classic and came out with their 4th consecutive victory, winning 66-60. SJC was led by SO Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) who scored a game and season high 17 points. St. Joe's improves to 4-1 on the year. The Green Mountain College (VT) Eagles defeated the Maine-Presque Isle Owls in the second game of the Merry Monk Classic, , 49-47 on a jump shot by FY Millicent Hopper with three seconds left in the game.
