come to an end after a 64-54 loss to Norwich University in the
GNAC playoffs on Tuesday evening. SO Allison Miner

ME - Freshman guard Erin Cartwright (Acton,
MA) has been named the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the
Week for her play in two contests last week.
Cartwright averaged 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5
steals and 1.0 blocked shots per game during the 1-1 week for

- Daigle Honored by GNAC
STANDISH,
ME - Sophomore forward Meghan Daigle (Grantham, NH) has been
named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Honor Roll
for her play during her play from 2/4 through 2/10. In the 1-1
week Daigle averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The
sophomore was honored earlier in the week by the Maine Women's
Basketball Coaches Association and currently ranks second on
the SJC women's team with 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

ME - St. Joe's defeated GNAC rival Daniel Webster College, 69-53,
and over $200 from gate proceeds was donated to the Kay Yow/WBCA
Cancer Fund on "Think Pink" night at Saint Joseph's
College on Tuesday evening. SR Megan Farrell (Abington,

- SJC Pair Named to MWBCA Honor Roll
STANDISH, ME - SO Meghan Daigle (Grantham,
NH) and FY Kayla Boston (North Berwick, ME)
both have been named to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches
Association Honor Roll for their play during the 2/4-2/10 reporting
period. Daigle averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds
per game and made 58% of her field goal attempts and 82% of
her free throws in a 1-1 week. She scored 21 points and collected
10 rebounds against Johnson and Wales to notch her first double-double
of the season. In last weeks contests Boston
averaged 6.5 points and 3.0 rebounds and made 50% of her shots.
The freshman chipped in with 9 points in a loss to GNAC opponent
Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, 2/9.

- St. Joe's Falls to Wildcats, 71-62
PROVIDENCE,
RI - Saint Joseph's College was defeated on Saturday afternoon
by GNAC foe Johnson and Wales University and now holds a 14-7

over conference opponent Pine Manor College on Wednesday evening.

afternoon. With the loss, the SJC women are now 13-6 overall

STANDISH, ME - Freshman guard CaseyDrake
(Lebanon, NH) has been named to the Maine Women's Basketball
Coaches Association Weekly Honor Roll for her play during last
week's games. In
a 2-1 week for St. Joe's, Drake averaged 11 points and 2.3 steals
per game. The rookie saw many of her shots fall, as she was
10-19 from the floor, 4-5 from beyond the arc and 9-11 from
the charity stripe for the week.
1/26/08 - St. Joe's Women Capture Victory Over Falcons, 76-63

ME - Sophomore guard CarolynFreeman
(Scarborough, ME/McAuley HS) has been named the Maine Women's
Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week. Freeman
shot just under 50% (17-36) from the field and 48% (10-21) from
beyond the arc in a 2-0 week for St. Joe's. The sophomore sharpshooter
averaged 24 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in
victories over GNAC opponents Simmons College and Mount Ida
College. Freeman scored a season-high 25 points and grabbed
11 boards in the convincing win over Mount Ida.

PRESQUE
ISLE, ME - The Saint Joseph 's College Women's Basketball
team traveled north to Presque Isle on Friday, 12/14 to take
part in the Star City Tournament hosted by the UMPI Owls.
Unfortunately for the weary travelers, the weather would not
allow a tournament to be held. The St. Joe's women played
the host Owls in a single game, winning 72-53, before making
the trip back home. SR Marie Lint (Orono,
ME) led all players with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the
victory.

College Eagles defeated St. Joe's , 51-48 in the final game
of the Merry Monk Classic. SO Carolyn Freeman

3-pointers in the game. SO Allison Miner (Pembroke,
NH) grabbed 9 rebounds in the losing effort. The University
of Maine-Presque Isle Owls faced off against the College of
Saint Joseph Fighting Saints in the first Saturday game and
won, 62-48.

ME - St. Joe's played the College of Saint Joseph (VT) in the
opening game of the Merry Monk Classic and came out with their
4th consecutive victory, winning 66-60. SJC was led by SO Meghan
Daigle (Grantham, NH) who scored a game and season high
17 points. St. Joe's improves to 4-1 on the year. The Green Mountain
College (VT) Eagles defeated the Maine-Presque Isle Owls in the
second game of the Merry Monk Classic, , 49-47 on a jump shot
by FY Millicent Hopper with three seconds left in the game.
