Cue the drum roll, please. Centennials are special. Saint Joseph’s College is special. Put the two together and we’ve got a major reason to celebrate. Since 1912, our college has made educational dreams come true. Our Centennial theme, “Realize the Promise,” represents our embrace of learning, discovery and achievement.
To celebrate the college’s namesake on his Saint Day, the community is invited to participate in a 100-candle lighting ceremony on campus, a celebratory Mass, and a festive meal to celebrate Saint Joseph.

Common loons have long been a beloved part of the Maine wilds but environmental changes threaten their survival. Biology instructor Camilla Fecteau will discuss the life history of loons, the biggest risks to their success, and actions that we can take to preserve their place on our lakes.
Camilla Fecteau's scientific research has focused on the effects of mercury on the reproductive success of high-trophic-level birds such as common loons, belted kingfishers, raptors, seabirds and songbirds.

Branding is not only for soaps and for beer. Your personal brand can be about how you act, feel, look and think in a way distinctive only to you. After this presentation, you will be on the way to better understanding yourself, how others perceive you, and ways to bring the two together.
Business faculty member Mary Lynn Engel teaches the Branding and Brand Management course on campus, and her other specialties include strategic communications, public relations in health care, Fortune 50 corporations, and higher education.

Father Malloy will share stories about various men and women from different periods in history (including the present) who merit our attention as examples of human virtue. His intention will be to both lift our collective spirits and to call all present to follow the example of these good people.
Father Monk Malloy, CSC, author, theology professor and longtime president of the University of Notre Dame until 2005, will present this talk.
The poster contest will be open to current on-campus students in each area of study. Students will be supplied with materials to use in the creation of their posters. More details on the guidelines for posters, deadline for submissions and the schedule for judging will be released during the spring semester.
Education students get to ask questions of education alumni, who are invited back to campus for this teacher panel held during April school vacation. Alumni answer a range of questions about their first year of teaching, from how they found their first job to how they manage their own classrooms and school politics.
