American Heart Association classes in CPR and first aid for adults, children, and infants

Saint Joseph’s College will offer a course in Adult-Child-Infant CPR and First Aid on Saturday, March 10, at the Harold Alfond Center on the Standish campus. The American Heart Association-certified course trains participants to respond to emergencies in their communities, workplaces and homes.

Participants will learn to respond and care for unconscious victims, breathing emergencies, sudden illness, bleeding and more. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice with a certified instructor, participants will gain confidence in caring for adults, children and infants. After completing all requirements of the course, participants will receive an American Heart Association adult, child and infant CPR certification valid for two years, and first aid certification valid for two years.

The course runs on March 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the cost is $80 (or $60 for recertification). If a class is needed on a different day, Saint Joseph’s can create a class at another time if there are four interested people. Call 893-6615 or e-mail rdaigle@sjcme.edu to register or for more information. To learn about other classes on campus, go to www.sjcme.edu/alfond/redcross.
