Annual Constitution Day Symposium: Democracy at Stake? Citizens United and the U.S. Constitution

Wednesday, October 30, 5:00-6:15 PM, Harold Alfond Hall Room 128

This year’s Constitution Day Symposium explores the impact of the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling of 2010 on US electoral processes. In Citizens United, the Court ruled that the government may not limit spending undertaken by corporations, associations, and/or labor unions on advocacy for electoral candidates. We will host BJ McCollister from the Maine Campaign for Clean Elections to discuss this important issue. All are invited to participate.

The event is free and open to the public.
