The concert raises funds for Camp Sunshine, a free-of-charge retreat on Sebago Lake where children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families can find respite, support, joy and hope. More than 200 violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano students, ages 3 to 18, from all over Maine and the country will perform classical music and folk tunes at the concert. The concert also honors Dr. Shin’ichi Suzuki, who spread the message that through music the world could be made a better place.
Donations for Camp Sunshine are welcomed at the free concert, which will take place at the Harold Alfond Recreation Center. For more information, e-mail Wendy Sawicki, email@example.com. 893-7723.
