CHILDREN’S CASE MANAGER - BANGOR

This position is a grant funded opportunity to be part of an exciting Reentry Project under the auspices of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office. This professional person is responsible for providing addiction counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, who are incarcerated at Cumberland County Jail and have been accepted into a reentry program that spans from the jail into the community. MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Catholic Charities Maine Counseling Services, Support & Recovery Services and St. Francis Recovery Center in Maine has a Full Time opportunity for a Medical Director. This position supports several service areas within Catholic Charities Maine including:
  • Medical Director for Counseling Services working with a team of professionals providing intensive support and treatment for people with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues
  • Medical Director for St. Francis Recovery Center which provides outpatient treatment services and residential rehabilitation for people with substance abuse, chemical dependency, and other co-occurring disorders
  • Psychiatrist for Support and Recovery Service’s Assertive Community Treatment Team which provides treatment to people with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Medical and Psychiatric Consultant for the Behavioral Health Home
Within these roles the Medical Director assists with assessment, treatment planning, and medication management. Other responsibilities include consultation with program staff, bringing a clinical perspective to issues such as eligibility for services, level of service needed, changes in level of service, and transition of people from case management to natural community supports, participation and involvement in care coordination, collaboration, and quality assurance activities in the larger behavioral health community. The Medical Director’s work is done primarily in office setting but may involve work in client’s residences, hospitals, and travel to Augusta and throughout the Greater Portland and Auburn area. The position requires some on-call availability. This person shall have completed three (3) years of post-graduate training in psychiatry approved by the American Medical Association and also have a working knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria. All applicants shall be eligible for a physician’s license issued by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine and be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (or be eligible for examination). The Medical Director will have a DEA waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. The agency will allow 5 days of training annually to assist in the continuation of licensure. This person will function as a core member of a collaborative care team that includes a Behavioral Health Home Coordinator, Clinical Team Leader, Peer Support Specialist, healthcare consultants and primary care partners. The Nurse Care Manager shall provide primary care consultation, psychiatric care consultation, and work with the Behavioral Health Home Organization (“BHHO”), the Health Home Practice (“HHP”) and the client to provide other MaineCare Section 92 services as necessary, pursuant to the client’s Plan of Care. Quality Management Systems Coordinator
The Quality Management Systems Coordinator is a member of the Quality & Compliance Department and has primary responsibility for coordination of new and established quality and compliance related processes, including providing training and technical support (Tier I) for users of Catholic Charities Maine’s existing Electronic Health Record, Cerner Community Behavioral Health (fka Anasazi Software), future client information systems, and other compliance related software applications. This person will be tasked with the role of internal project coordinator for department and Agency wide information technology projects and initiatives. This position requires travel to various programs throughout the state, as well as to Cerner Community Behavioral Health meetings out of state (typically 2x per calendar year). The ability to provide training to a diverse work force, and a positive customer-friendly approach to ongoing application and support of an Electronic Health Record and other compliance related software systems is critical to the successful execution of this position’s duties. TEACHER FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN
Catholic Charities Maine Education Services for Blind & Visually Impaired Children has a Full-Time opening for a Teacher for Visually Impaired Children I, II, or III.
This position is located in southern Maine covering parts of York and or Cumberland counties. Provide services to local schools and families of children with visual impairment ages birth through 20. We serve many students who have multiple disabilities including vision loss. The TVI is responsible for assessments including functional vision, learning media, and ECC assessments, and the development of appropriate IEP goals for consideration by the educational team. The TVI is responsible for assisting children with varying degrees of vision loss and must be able to provide information regarding the implications of vision loss including appropriate accommodations, techniques and modifications for braille and low vision learners. The candidate should be an independent worker who possesses strong interpersonal and consultation skills with good time management. This is an itinerant position with a significant amount of travel.

Education and experiences requirements are:
  • Teacher I shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a specialty in education for the blind/visually impaired from an accredited and recognized university or college program.
  • The Teacher II shall have a minimum of a Masters degree with a specialty in education for the blind/visually impaired from an accredited and recognized university or college program. Experience in teaching children who are blind and visually impaired, including pre-school children, is preferred.
  • The Teacher III shall have a minimum of a Master’s degree with a specialty in education for children who are blind/visually impaired from an accredited and recognized university or college program. (A Bachelor’s degree with a specialty in education for the blind/visually impaired and five (5) years of directly related experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree.) Shall have at least three (3) years of demonstrated competence in teaching children who are blind and visually impaired, including pre-school children.
