The College will offer lifeguard training classes on March 13, 14, 20, 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This course helps to develop skills and experience valued by future employers. Successful completion of this course establishes certification in lifeguarding, first aid and CPR/AED for lifeguards. The minimum age is 15 and participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, swim 20 yards using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds. The course cost is $350.
