CPA workshop series on Aug. 21

The CPA Series at Saint Joseph’s College will hold a one-day workshop for certified public accountants and other financial professionals on Thursday, August 21, at its campus in Standish. The workshop provides eight hours of continuing education credits toward licensing requirements, in addition to one hour of ethics.

The workshop’s topics include:

  • State Tax Updates-Heather Popadak, Maine Department of Revenue
  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of the PPACA-Shawn Brennan and Scott Boucher, Barresi Financial
  • PPA Restatement & Pension Trends-Rene Morin, Downeast Pension
  • HR Best Practices for Small Firms-David Ciullo, President, CMA
  • The Ethics of Client Conversations - Beth Richardson, University of New England

The CPA Series workshop will be held in the Viola George Auditorium, Harold Alfond Hall, on Saint Joseph’s Standish campus. It runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Check-in and a continental breakfast will occur from 7 to 8 a.m. Registration is $149 and includes lunch.

The series continues with two additional workshops: September 26 (in Bangor) and November 20 at Saint Joseph’s College.
