Current Publishing is looking for an intern to help their New Media Developer in designing, implementing and analyzing our digital media campaigns. This will be an excellent opportunity for someone who has excelled in a quantitative field of study and is looking to gain first-hand experience.

You will not be sent to make coffee.

Instead, you will be working with the web, editorial and sales departments. In particular you will be working with Google Analytics, perfecting your SEO techniques, be on Facebook and Twitter for legitimate work reasons. Your work will have a material effect on the day-to-day functions of the company and its future. The New Media Developer is aiming to make Current Publishing the digital leader in Maine.

If you are still a student and want this to count towards school credits, we will gladly fill out the necessary paper work. This is currently an unpaid internship.

Qualities we are looking for:
Web + Social Media savvy
Excel whiz
A fresh perspective on the future of local news
Ability to work in a professional environment

Major Pluses
Familiarity with statistics and, or differential equations
Basic programming and web development skills

Current Publishing:
We own six weekly newspapers in the greater Portland region and four monthly niche magazines

Our main office is located only minutes outside of downtown Portland in the center of Westbrook and we have a sister office in downtown Biddeford
