The Westbrook Community Center is seeking a Schedule & Marketing Coordinator for The Hit Pit Indoor Batting Cages.
Position responsible for scheduling all private hitting lessons at The Hit Pit indoor batting cages at the Westbrook Community Center with professional hitting instructor Ken Joyce, a member of the San Francisco Giants' minor league coaching staff. Joyce has worked in professional baseball for 18 years, 10 of them as a hitting instructor, and has three World Series rings (one with the Florida Marlins, and two with the Giants).
Position will be supplied with a work cell phone and a work e-mail account. Using these, position will be responsible for promptly replying to all inquiries and scheduling all lessons, based on Joyce's availability.
Position will also be responsible for managing The Hit Pit, keeping it clean, organized and properly set up, and serving as the on-site contact during all hitting sessions and/or rentals with Little League, High School and AAU teams.
Position will also manage The Hit Pit's official Facebook page, handle all promotion and marketing of the facility, and seek out new rental opportunities.
Must be able to communicate well, be very organized, and able to fully commit to necessary hours. Experience with social media, Google Calendar and Excel preferred. Past or present sports playing or management experience NOT required.
Position answers directly to deputy director position.
Openings: One Available Position
Term: January 13-April 13, 2014 (13 weeks)
Hours per Week: 12-16 (mostly weeknight evenings)
Compensation: Internship for School Credit or Community Service Project for School
Additional Perk: One FREE 30-Minute Hitting Lesson per Week (based on availability)
