This Finance Internship will have a strong focus on accounting and will be an introduction to L.L.Bean and an opportunity for the right individual to contribute to moving the business forward and gain exposure to key areas of the company. Our interns assume varying project roles and responsibilities while working on current business opportunities that directly benefit L.L.Bean. This internship will be 8 to 10 weeks in duration, and will be guided by department leaders in our Finance groups.

Summary of Job Tasks:

  • Maintain and analyze accounting system, reports, and ledgers.
  • Assist in preparation of financial schedules.
  • Assist in preparation of tax compliance filings.
  • Participate in projects focused on current business needs.
  • Take on miscellaneous responsibilities, which are intended to provide experience or exposure to the assigned departmental processes at L.L.Bean.
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, management, and cross-functionally with other departments depending on the scope of the project(s).
  • Maintain communications with leaders of the internship.
  • Network with other interns at L.L.Bean to gain a broader understanding of the company.

Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in college or university degree program (Accounting focus is preferred)
  • Passion for retail combined with a strong desire to represent our brand
  • Strong analytical, research, and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work where needed during the internship experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interns are responsible for their own lodging within a commutable distance to Freeport and must have reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
