New physical education faculty

Saint Joseph’s College has appointed Dr. Amy Meltzer Rady of Portland to the faculty as an associate professor of education in the Dept. of Sport and Exercise Science. Rady earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She earned her doctorate in education at the University of Georgia.

Previously, Rady taught in the Department of Kinesiology at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J., at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City and at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her areas of specialization include pedagogy, curriculum and teacher education. Her book, Urban Physical Education Instructional Strategies and Cultural Activities, was published in 2012 by Human Kinetics.
