NCG Internship Program Details
The NCG program provides a mix of developmental on-the-job assignments, research assignments, and mentorships that will develop the skills needed for professional success and growth. Positions are available in NCG's Portland, Maine office.

How the Internship Works The Intern will work closely with our staff members in producing professional graphic design for a variety of business and marketing initiatives. NCG will provide day-to-day direction and guidance. During the course of the internship, the Intern will actively be involved in the following areas:

• Web graphics creation
• Website design updates
• Multimedia presentations
• Print graphics and design
• Animation/Video Design with Flash
• Multi format graphic elements
• Corporate design guide development

The NCG Internship Program gives the participants:

• The opportunity for hands-on work experience in your field of study

Major Intern responsibilities:
The Intern will assist with creative design and branding of Northcross Group internal and external corporate presence-- from conceptualization to completion. Specific responsibilities include:

• Assisting with design and concepts for the NCG websites and web applications
• Assisting with regular website updates
• Development of multimedia elements for use in public and client facing presentation
• Creation of visualizations for presentations and client deliverables
• Contributing creative ideas for visual corporate communication: brochures, service cards and etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Intern will gain exposure to:

• Multimedia marketing planning, design, and creation
• Translation of concepts into easily understood visualizations
• Working with client facing deliverable development
• Working with new product launches

Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements are:

• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residence status is required for conversion into permanent employment.
• Attend an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor degree program.
• Be able to provide a letter of verification from your educational institution showing proof of that you are currently enrolled at least half time in school.
• Work experience must relate to academic study area (i.e. Graphic Design)

Because we work in highly sensitive and regulated industries, all NCG interns will be a subject to a background check which gathers information on areas including criminal checks, past employment, educational history, and credit records.

Desired Qualifications:
Any previous work experience will be considered a plus. An ideal candidate will have a past graphic design experience. Specific desired qualifications:

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor degree
• Ability to demonstrate creative thinking and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to take a project from concept through final production with strong time management, communication and problem solving skills
• Capable of translating business objectives and technical service models into creative visual presentations: from original design to layout and composition
• Active listening skills
• Professional attitude and presentation while representing the company
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Must be highly-organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal, communications skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Self starter
• Inquisitive
• Must have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Adobe CS5 (Flash, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop),Quark XPress

Compensation
The pay our interns receive in will depend on the education and work experience the interns already possess. As interns advance in education, they may be eligible for promotions based on their work performance.

Are the Hours of Internship Flexible?
The schedule will be mutually determined by NCG and the Intern. However, all interns are expected to work at least 20 hours per week. Flexilibity will be provided to accommodate course load schedules. It is recommended that all interns work for durations of no less than 4 hours at a time if possible.
