Offering CPR, first aid and lifeguard classes

The College will offer American Red Cross first aid and CPR
class on May 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The class provides information
and training in administering CPR and first aid on infants, children and
adults. It meets the various needs of workplace, schools or community
settings. The classes are all located at the Saint Joseph's College
Alfond Center on the Standish campus. To register or for more

Cost is $60.

Lifeguard Course

A four-day lifeguard training course
on May 22, 23, 29 and 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This course helps to develop
skills and experience valued by future employers. Successful completion
of this course establishes certification in lifeguarding, first aid and
CPR/AED for lifeguards. The minimum age is 15 and participants must be
able to swim 300 yards continuously, swim 20 yards using the front crawl
or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object,
return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with
the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1
minute, 40 seconds. The course cost is $350.

The classes are all located at the Saint Joseph's College Alfond Center.
