Candidates considered with the following qualifications:

  • High School graduates, college graduates and all college class levels
  • Demonstrated academic achievements
  • Strong desire for a career in professional sports and entertainment

Media Production Interns will work closely with the Pirates' Director, Communications. The candidate will perform a number of tasks, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Photography and filming during game nights and player/mascot community appearances
  • Create and/or edit promotional video clips of game highlights and interviews
  • Creation of videos and PSAs on project based requirement
  • Creation and maintenance of video and audio library
  • Player interviews
  • Production of all video media for the Pirates website and social media

Qualifications:

  • Basic Adobe Photoshop/InDesign skills
  • Basic Final Cut Express skills are a plus, but not required
  • Must provide own laptop equipped with Adobe Photoshop
  • Must be able to attend required home games
  • Working knowledge of iMovie or comparable movie software
  • Owning a camera is preferable but not required

Term Consideration:
The Pirates would prefer candidates who can commit to the entire season (September-May). However, Fall Semester (September-December) and Spring Semester (January-May) internships are available for all departments. Interns will work Monday-Friday as well as Game nights, with hours varying by department.

Complimentary parking and Pirates game tickets are provided. Internships are not compensated positions (candidates seeking academic credit preferred). Interns must supply their own laptop and cell phone. Attire is business casual.
