Kids can wear their pajamas and enjoy the reading of a good book, along with fun activities and snacks as elementary education majors from Saint Joseph's College present a "Bedtime Stories" program this fall. Children from area schools, grades K-3, are invited to attend this free event, which will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as well as on Nov. 18 and Dec.9.
Sponsored through the Saint Joseph's chapter of Student Educators Association of Maine (SEAM), each night will feature books and related activities that reflect seasonal themes. Danielle Johnson of Standish, elementary education major and SEAM member, says, "Everyone participating is excited to help the children develop their reading skills outside of the classroom and have some fun."
The theme for Oct. 21 is Halloween, Nov. 18 is Popcorn and Food, and Dec. 9 is The Polar Express. The event will be held in the first-floor lounge at the Harold Alfond Center. Don't forget a blanket or your favorite teddy bear. No registration necessary. 893-7723.
