College to sponsor lecture on immigration issues

Immigration lawyer Gaye Moorhead will speak at Saint Joseph's College on "Immigration, Its Benefits and Its Challenges: A Catholic Perspective" on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Sister Moorhead is President of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Regional Community of Rochester, N.Y. In recent years, she served as staff attorney at the Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services in El Paso, Texas, representing individuals in immigration court, and as coordinator of the Mercy Migrant Education Ministry, a mobile elementary school for Hispanic migrant children.

The free, public lecture is at 7 p.m. in the Viola George Auditorium of Harold Alfond Hall on the Saint Joseph's campus in Standish.
