Elementary education majors offer Bedtime Stories Program for local children

Wear your pajamas and come join elementary education majors for six nights of reading, learning, and fun at Saint Joseph's College starting on October 22. Children from local schools, grades K-3, are invited to attend and enjoy the reading of a good book, have some snacks and participate in different activities.

This event, which is sponsored through SEAM (Student Educators Association of Maine), will feature different books and activities that will all reflect monthly themes which include giving thanks and celebrating Maine.

Danielle Johnson, elementary education major and SEAM member, says, "I am most looking forward to see the children's enthusiasm about reading. Everyone who is participating is excited to get involved and help the children develop their reading skills outside of the classroom and have some fun."

The first program will be held October 22 nd from 6-7:30pm and the theme is Happy Halloween. The event will be held at the Harold Alfond Center on the Standish campus. Don't forget a blanket or your favorite teddy bear.

Reminder fliers for Bedtime Stories will be sent out each month.
