Faculty member part of team receiving "internetional" award for chemistry video

Jonathan Mitschele of New Gloucester, a chemistry professor at Saint Joseph's College, was a contributor to the Journal of Chemical Education's "Chemistry Comes Alive" CD-ROM collection, which recently won the Pirelli "Internetional" Award. The video collection shows experiments and demonstrations not easily replicated in the classroom. Dr. Mitschele was involved in producing a set of videos on wave and particle phenomena designed to give students the background needed to understand atomic and molecular properties and structure. The Pirelli award is the first Internet multimedia award aimed at the diffusion of scientific and technological culture worldwide.
