Free Sports Clinic on February 10

The women's athletic teams at Saint Joseph's College will be hosting a free sports camp for girls in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade on Sunday, Feb. 10, in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Female athletes from St. Joe's basketball, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, softball and cross country teams will offer skill instruction and fun competitions in each sport. There will also be raffles for Saint Joseph's College merchandise and other prizes.

According to athletic trainer Lisa Ahearn, the goal of the sports camp is "to give local female athletes a chance to see the range of sports opportunities and perhaps try those they haven't tried." Ahearn adds that the activities will also allow St. Joe's athletes to interact with the younger students.

Registration begins at 10:30, and the program runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Center. Participants will need a clean pair of sneakers to wear in the gym. Contact Lisa Ahearn at 893-6677 or lahearn@sjcme.edu for more information.
