Portland String Quartet plays on campus

The world-renowned Portland String Quartet will perform at the college on Monday, July 21, and Monday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m., during its two-week residency at the Sebago Lake campus. Tickets are $20 and available only at the door. The concerts take place in Viola George Auditorium of Harold Alfond Hall.

On July 28 before the concert, the college will offer an elegant four-course, wine-tasting dinner in the original Tudor-style mansion on campus at 5:30 p.m. For reservations and information, call 893-6617 or e-mail mlasalle@sjcme.edu by July 25. Seating is limited. Cost for dinner and the concert is $60 per person.
The menu for the dinner includes an appetizer of seared duck breast served with Asian slaw; fire-roasted tomato salad with balsamic vinaigrette and grilled asparagus; entrée choice of lobster thermador (fresh lobster in a sherry and Swiss cheese cream sauce) or filet mignon (wild mushroom-rubbed and local grass-fed beef tenderloin with sauce perigeau, a truffle-like sauce); dessert is mango mousse with fresh raspberry sauce. Dinner includes a wine served with each of the four courses and an international cheese board on the table. Call 893-6617.
