Saint Joseph’s offers course in basic life support

Saint Joseph’s College will host a one-day course on CPR and other lifesaving skills on September 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at its campus in Standish. The course is ideal for lifeguards, nurses, athletic trainers, EMTs and other health professionals.

Participants will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Successful completion of the course earns participants a certificate in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association. This certificate is valid for two years.
