Progressive department on the Southern Maine Coast is looking for qualified, motivated, career-oriented individuals for anticipated Police Officer positions.

To be eligible for the bi-annual police screening process, applications must be received by the City’s Human Resource Office by Monday, April 1, 2013 at 12:00PM.
All applicants who are not currently certified by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to work as a full-time police officer in Maine, OR who have not graduated from an equivalent training program making them eligible for certification as a police officer in Maine after waiver of basic training, will take a written examination on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 8:00AM at the South Portland Community Center, 21 Nelson Road, South Portland, ME.
Physical fitness testing (PFT) will be conducted immediately following the written exam, but may be waived for applicants having submitted written proof of having successfully completed the standard MCJA entrance PFT within six months of the application due date.
