The Aquatics Department at Saint Joseph's College is hosting a swim clinic on Tuesday and Thursday evenings that will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 25 and run through Nov.17.
The clinic will offer beginners and competitive swimmers an opportunity to improve stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and dives. It emphasizes improvement of stroke skills - from beginning to advanced levels - in a fun, flexible environment. It is appropriate for new competitive swimmers as well as advanced swimmers. The swimmers will be divided into three groups: beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.
Beginner swimmers (5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.) must be able to swim at least one length of the pool unassisted. Intermediate swimmers (5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) must be able to do freestyle and backstroke as well as dolphin kick and stride dives. Advanced swimmers (5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) must be able to legally swim all four strokes as well as correct dives off the blocks and flip turns. The cost is $70 for beginner swimmers and $95 for intermediate and advanced swimmers.
