Facilities Management Moving Services

Moving services:
We assist departments in moving such items as furniture and equipment. File cabinets and bookshelves/bookcases must be emptied by the customer prior to being moved. Arrangements should be made at least one week in advance for scheduling purposes. Facilities Management is also responsible for residence hall room furniture moving and preparation. We are not responsible for moving computers, phones and technical equipment.  All desk moves that involve computers and phones must be in coordination with the Information Systems Department at least 48 hours prior to the moving.

Bed lofting and bunking:
Facilities Management will loft/bunk beds in residence hall rooms per a students request. Students should contact the office of Student Life at extension 6603 to request a lofting/bunking service. The following information will need to be supplied:

Student’s name and building
Room number and suite if applicable
Best time(s) the service can be provided when student will be in his/her room

It is mandatory that the student be in attendance during a bed lofting/bunking. Facilities Management will make two attempts at lofting/bunking a particular bed. After two unsuccessful attempts, the request will be moved to the bottom of the list and the student will be charged in the event of a call back.

We understand a student’s need for having a lofting/bunking service performed immediately, however, due to overwhelming need at the beginning of each semester, please realize that requests may take up to four weeks to complete. Lofting and bunking service will be organized according to building and a first come, first served basis. Facilities Management will do everything possible to accommodate requests as soon as possible.
