How do I find out if I qualify for financial aid?

Questions pertaining to financial aid need to be directed to the financial aid office at 1-800-752-1266. Your academic advisor does not have access to your financial aid records.

When do I receive an official grade report for my completed course?

A grade report will be mailed after the instructor submits the final course grade to the college.

How do I know my instructor received my unit/assignment?

When you submit your unit/assignment through the online assignment submission form, you will receive an auto reply from the college indicating that we have successfully received your assignment. The auto reply will be sent to the e-mail address you indicated on the submission form. If you do not receive a grade back from the instructor within a week, you can e-mail the instructor or your advisor to check on the assignment/unit.

How soon will I receive feedback from my instructor on my assignments?

Normal instructor turnaround time is approximately 7-10 days from when you submit an assignment. If you do not receive a grade back from the instructor within a week, you can e-mail the instructor or your advisor to check on the assignment/unit.

How do I know how many courses I need in order to graduate?

For detailed information about your specific program’s requirements, check the online catalog.

Can I speak with my instructor?

All instructors are available via e-mail, and most also have virtual office hours when you can contact them by phone. Check your course syllabus or contact your academic advisor for specific information about reaching your instructor.

What is “academic probation”?

Candidates who do not maintain at least a 3.0 (“B”) incur academic probation, which is both a warning and an opportunity to improve. The probationary period will extend for the duration of enrollment in one additional course. If the student, on completion of the additional course, still does not attain a cumulative GPA of 3.0, the student cannot enroll in further courses and is required to re-enroll in a course already completed at less than the grade of “B.” The student is permitted to select the course that is to be taken over, if there is more than one course with less than a “B” grade on the student’s transcript. Separation from the college may occur if the candidate still does not maintain a cumulative quality point average of 3.0 or shows no sign of improvement.

Can I take time off between classes?

Students are allowed to take up to 15 weeks between the end date of one course and the start date of the next. MBA students are allowed take a term break but must enroll in the next available term to maintain active status.

What happens if I become inactive?

If you become inactive, you are subject to any new admissions/program requirements instituted by the college since your original enrollment. Inactive students, therefore, are subject to re-evaluation. All delinquent accounts must be settled with the Office of the Treasurer before enrollment in subsequent courses can occur.

What information must I provide the college if I want to use my VA Benefits?

After filing the appropriate paperwork with the VA Regional Processing Office in Buffalo, N.Y. , you must notify the Division of Graduate & Professional Studies’ VA Certifying Official that you have applied for VA benefit and indicate the chapter. The college’s VA Certifying Official will certify your current course enrollment(s) as well as future course enrollment(s) online via the VA-ONCE program. Note: The certifying official isn’t a VA employee, and can’t make decisions about your eligibility for VA benefits.

Can I do a course substitution?

Course substitutions are permitted within the first few weeks of your enrollment.  You must submit your request in writing or via e-mail directly to your Academic Advisor. A fee may be required for a course substitution.

When will my final exam be sent?

Final exams are mailed once all units for the course have been completed and posted with a grade. Students are then allowed a 28-day window to schedule and take the final exam. If the exam is a proctored exam, the exam is mailed directly to the approved proctor. If the exam is non-proctored, the exam is mailed directly to the student.
