Managing Healthcare with Values in Turbulent Economic Times - Health Administration Symposium
A 2009 Symposium for Health Administration Professionals
The Graduate and Professional Studies division of Saint Joseph's College of Maine is holding its second annual symposium for health administration professionals July 20th through 24th in 2009! Again, this symposium is designed for students wishing to gain academic credit (undergraduate and graduate) and others who seek continuing education credit. Students who attended last year's event may also attend in 2009 to earn credits in the health administration elective courses area.
This symposium will be focused on managing the business of healthcare, using values and integrity, in spite of the unpredictable economic times. Special topics will be included that are particularly relevant in these difficult times and will be presented by nationally-known experts in those areas.
Topics include:
- Trends in paying for care
- Transformational Leadership/Values
- Leading Culture change
- Values and faith-based healthcare
- Physician relations
- Health informatics
- Ethics
- Quality Initiatives
- Employee development and succession planning
Offered during Summer Session 2, July 20 – 24, the symposium meets both in the morning (8-11AM) and the afternoon (1-4PM).
Costs
Tuition
Undergraduate: $900
Graduate: $1050
Continuing Education: $750 (for 5 days) or $175 a day. Includes lunch. Earn 6 CEU contact hours per day.
Room and Board
$488 person/single or $368 person/double occupancy (available for five-day stay only).
