Summary

The online Health Administration major prepares students for administrative positions in a wide range of health care organizations. The program provides individuals who have some health care experience, even at the entry level, with the skills necessary to move into supervisory or management positions in health care organizations. The variety of courses offered provides the necessary foundation and framework for growth and success as a health care administrator.

There are numerous management positions within health care organizations (smaller hospitals, long-term care organizations, government regulatory agencies) for which this specialized degree is ideal. As health care organizations continue to grow more complex, having a degree in health administration becomes more and more essential for success.

Admission Requirements

You may apply for and be granted admission status at any time during the year, regardless of program choice.

For undergraduate programs, all applicants must be graduates of an accredited public or private high school must have passed a GED examination, or provide proof of completion of a GED equivalent, or must have completed a state-approved high school diploma through homeschooling.

Students must have completed high school with an average grade of “C” or better, have a standard 2.0 or better for GED students or show college credit with a cumulative grade point of 2.0 or better for admission to an undergraduate degree program. Students who do not meet the cumulative grade point standard may be conditionally accepted and required to take specific introductory course work and complete it with a grade of 2.0 or better, prior to consideration of formal acceptance.
