Do you like sitting by the lake reading a book? Enjoy eating lobster? How about discovering wonderful people who share your interests? You can see why many students choose to take courses in the summer at our campus in Maine. By taking summer courses, you can:
Some students who come for summer end up coming back again and again, because they so enjoy the face-to-face interaction and find the lovely surroundings conducive to learning – and relaxing. In addition, there are expanded course offerings and innovative formats in the summer, including hybrid courses that combine online and on-campus learning.
“The hospitality from all segments of the campus population was outstanding! From security to food services to the chaplain, all were welcoming. ”
Hybrid courses, requiring just five days on campus and five weeks online, are available to health administration students and nursing students. Hybrid courses start online, then meet face-to-face on campus for five days, and then resume online up until a designated end date.
Eight of the two-week summer courses for undergraduate and graduate theology majors will not require pre-residency assignments. Registration for these courses extends later than for other summer courses.
A special five-day symposium, Managing the Business of Health Care, will run from July 15 through July 19. Available for non-credit CEU requirements, or with pre- and post-residency work as a credit course toward your degree, the symposium will feature guest speakers covering many key issues facing health care today.
New, exciting courses in our traditional two-week summer sessions include: History of the Modern Middle East, Nursing Ethics, Introduction to Gender Studies and Literature of the ’60s & ’70s.
Session 1 June 9 – 20
