• Information Systems maintains and operates the college’s
telephone system, telephone switching equipment, voice mail system,
cell phone and paging equipment. Information Systems is also responsible
for maintaining the vast infrastructure of telephone cabling which
connects all of the buildings on campus.
• All college residence hall rooms are wired for phone, data
and voicemail capability. These services are provided through the
technology fee charged to students each semester. Students must provide
their own analog telephone for their residence hall room.
• The college maintains a (PBX) private branch exchange switch
that currently handles over 1000 telephone extensions, fax numbers
and modem lines. The college also has an extensive voice mail system,
which handles approximately 1000 voice mail boxes, logging and routing
hundreds of student, faculty and staff voice mail messages per day.
• The Information Systems department would be happy to address
any telecommunications questions or comments you may have. Please
call us at extension 7851 or e-mail us at helpdesk@sjcme.edu.
