Borrowing Wellehan Library materials

Overdue materials

Overdue notices are sent via email. Fourteen days after the due date, a bill for the cost of the item plus a $15.00 processing fee will be sent by email and campus mail.

For items returned damaged, the student will be billed for the cost of the item only.

When a Wellehan Library item is checked out, it is stamped with a due date. Please be mindful of this due date and be sure to return or renew the item before it is due.

On campus students

  • Books may be borrowed for 21 days with one 21 day renewal, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • DVDs and CDs may be borrowed for 7 days with one 7 day renewal, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • Popular magazines may be checked out for 7 days with no renewal.
  • Journals, newspapers, and reference books must be used in the library.
  • Borrowed items must be returned during regular business hours. An
    interior book drop slot is located just beyond the security gate in the
    side of the circulation desk.

Online students

  • To borrow a circulating item owned by Wellehan Library, submit a request form.
  • Books, DVDs and CDs may be borrowed for 30 days, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • Books are sent to our online students by mail. Any borrowed items must
    be mailed back to:

    Students are responsible for shipping charges.

Faculty & staff

  • Books, DVDs and CDs may be borrowed for one semester, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • Popular magazines may be checked out for 7 days with no renewal.
  • Journals, newspapers, and reference books must be used in the library.
  • Borrowed items must be returned during regular business hours. An
    interior book drop slot is located just beyond the security gate in the
    side of the circulation desk.

Windham/Standish Residents and Alumni

  • Patrons must present their courtesy cards to library staff at the circulation desk. Items cannot be checked out without a card.
  • Books may be borrowed for 21 days with one 21 day renewal, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • DVDs and CDs may be borrowed for 7 days with one 7 day renewal, provided they have not been requested by another patron.
  • Popular magazines may be checked out for 7 days with no renewal.
  • Journals, newspapers, and reference books must be used in the library.
  • A maximum of five items may be checked out at a time.
  • Borrowed items must be returned during regular business hours. An interior book drop slot is located just beyond the security gate in the side of the circulation desk.
