Best-selling and classic titles available for free anytime, anywhere!

Browse the collection, check out up to two items at a time with your library card number, download the audiobook to your computer, and then transfer it to a mobile device (like an iPod) or burn it to a CD.

Audiobooks on CDs or Cassette Tapes

Wellehan Library does not have audiobooks on CDs or cassette tapes; however, SJC on-campus students, faculty, and staff may request these items from other Maine libraries through MINERVA and MaineCat.  (Online students must request materials differently.  More information...)

To search for audiobooks, on the MINERVA page, click the "Advanced Search" button. Fill in the search box(es), Limit to ALL MINERVA LOCATIONS, and for Material Type, choose

  • SPOKEN (CD) - for audiobooks on CD
  • SPOKEN (CAS) - for audiobooks on cassette tapes

When you locate an AVAILABLE item, you may request it from the owning library using the library barcode on
your SJC ID.  Requested items typically arrive in 5-7 days; you will receive an email when items arrive.

If you do not find what you are looking for in MINERVA, try MaineCat, which includes the holdings of a number of other Maine libraries including those in the University of Maine System, Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, and the University of New England.

Music on CD or Cassette Tape

Wellehan Library has a small collection of music CDs shelved after the DVDs on the A-frames.  Also, SJC patrons may borrow music from other Maine libraries through MINERVA and MaineCat.   (Online students must request materials differently.  More

To search for audiobooks, on the MINERVA
page, click the "Advanced Search" button. Fill in the search box(es),
Limit to either St. Joseph's College or ALL MINERVA LOCATIONS, and for Material Type, choose

  • MUSIC (CD) - for music on CD
  • MUSIC (CAS) - for music on cassette tape

When you locate an AVAILABLE item,

  • if it belongs to Wellehan Library, use the call number to locate it on the shelf.
  • if it belongs to another library, you may request it using the library barcode on your SJC ID. 
    Requested items typically arrive in 5-7 days.
