Scholarship Recognition Reception
Record numbers of students, donors, and family members attended
the annual Scholarship Recognition Reception, held Friday, Sept.
28 under the “big top,”a
large tent erected behind the Alfond Center to accommodate 260 guests. Both
individuals who have supported the College’s scholarship program
through annual and endowed gifts and businesses who supported the
Corporate Alliance Program for Scholarships last year met the students
who benefit from their generosity.
Legacy Luncheon
President Joe Lee hosted a private luncheon for our
legacy families during Parent’s weekend. There are currently
25 students attending Saint Joseph’s whose parent or parents
are also proud graduates. It was a lovely afternoon discussing the
past, present and future of the College. We look forward to welcoming
more children of our alumni to continue the traditions at Saint
Joseph’s.

SJC Alumni Come Together!
THE ROCK, the new SJC online community,
has an online directory for alumni to contact friends. Every member
decides what type of personal information to post and how much of
that information to make available on his/her secure page in addition
to class notes and photographs to share with the community. The ROCK
makes reconnecting with the College and other alumni easier than
ever.

Boston Summer Party
Alumni and friends gathered in August at Tia’s
on the Waterfront in Boston to socialize, share memories of Saint
Joseph’s, meet
President Joe Lee and hear about the growth of the college.
Portland Summer Party
Alumni and friends from the Portland area met
at Rivalries in the Old Port to share memories, catch up with friends,
and meet other alumni! Guests represented nearly every era from 1965
to the present, all sharing their love of the college.
Boston and Portland Alumni Steering Committees
Are you interested in alumni events in Boston
or Portland, Maine?
Our alumni social networking has
taken off and we’d like your input on future regional events!
We invite you
to become part of Alumni Steering Committees in the Greater Portland
and Boston areas. What better way to reconnect with alumni at a great
venue than to choose it yourself? Each committee will meet to organize
three to four events for the 2008 year at the most exciting places
around.
We are looking for committee members from various graduating
years, along with different career paths and backgrounds.
