Alumni Association intent

The Alumni Association will help to support the mission and the interests of the college; to promote the college community; and to maintain and strengthen the strong bonds of friendship, education and loyalty among alumni. Some of the initial objectives of the Alumni Association include helping the college prepare for the upcoming Centennial Celebration, increasing alumni and student interaction, and aiding Admissions in recruiting future SJC alumni.

This is an exciting time for the renewed Alumni Association at Saint Joseph’s College. Using feedback from the Alumni Summit held in June of 2010, alumni volunteers and the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations have been working to reinvigorate the Saint Joseph’s College Alumni Association.

The Alumni Association will have an elected governing Alumni Council made up of a chair, vice chair, treasurer, and secretary. It will also have designated class representatives and committees dedicated to the objectives of the association.

Alumni volunteers worked together to draft association by-laws, which were accepted by the college’s Board of Trustees in September and include the Council positions listed above. Progress continued over the winter when alumni volunteers on the nominations committee assembled a great group of candidates for the Alumni Council election. Alumni Association Meeting
(during Alumni Weekend)

At the Alumni Association meeting on June 4, the positions of chair, vice chair, treasurer, and secretary will be filled by election. For those who cannot attend this meeting, absentee ballots are available on The ROCK: go to http://therock.sjcme.edu and look for the Alumni Association page. The ballot form can be downloaded, printed and mailed to the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. All absentee ballots must be submitted to the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations by May 20. Information about the candidates can be found on The ROCK’s Alumni Association page.
