Alumni shaping the future

2010 Summer Summit

Ken Marino '82

Trustee Ken Marino ’82 piloted the organization of the Alumni Summit to create an alumni board and an active alumni association.

On a warm and sunny June afternoon, nearly 60 alumni from all eras packed Xavier Hall Lounge to collaborate on creating an active Alumni Association and Alumni Association Board at the college. Presenters for the afternoon included Sr. Mary George O’Toole ’51, RSM; Eric Foushee, executive director of alumni relations and annual giving at Bowdoin College; and Celeste Viger, volunteer leader for Saint Michael’s College, Portland Chapter.

After the presentations, alumni discussed Alumni Association Board recruitment, Alumni Association Board structure and governance, alumni communications, alumni association chapters, alumni-student involvement and feedback on alumni events.

Some of the feedback and suggestions from the discussion groups will be integrated into future alumni programming and communications. If you did not attend the summit or take the online survey following the summit, but would like to submit your feedback, please e-mail

Look for the results of the alumni communications survey in the fall.
